Carbon dynamics and soil greenhouse fluxes in a Florida's native rangeland before and after fire

چکیده
Grazing lands, including the native rangelands, cover an extensive area of southeastern United States, representing important component carbon balance for region. In Florida, rangelands extend over 3.1 Mha, experiencing a natural fire frequency between 2 – 5 years and strong climatic variability. Management includes prescribed mechanical brush control. This study is first its kind assessing impacts variability on C dynamics warming potential in Florida's rangeland. We used combination eddy covariance chamber measurements to estimate net ecosystem exchange (NEE), greenhouse gas (GHG, CO2, CH4, N2O) emissions, pre post-fire aboveground biomass. NEE extended four half since 2016, included event during fourth year (May 1st, 2019), two GHG . Pre-fire production (NEP) was -368 ± 41 g m?2 yr?1 decreased -181 year. After accounting -43 2019. Soil CO2 dominated emissions increasing 172 after fire, N2O fluxes increased from 29, pre-fire year, (CO2eqv) post-fire, CH4 sink -1.7 -3.9 CO2eqv. The effect uptake short-lived, recovered fast NEP reached monthly average months after, increases caused by were offset within next after. rangeland suitable mitigate global warming, it acted as offsetting -1148 drought

Converting the native rangelands to simplified agronomic communities causessome changes in soil carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus. Establishing of perennial plantcommunities on formerly cultivated rangelands is expected to stabilize soil properties andincrease the amount of C, N, P stored in rangeland soils, but there is little information on whatplant communities are the most effective for impro...

abstract reception environment has considerable effects on accepting a translation. as the expectations of a target culture and its values and needs change throughout history, its criteria for accepting a translation or rejecting it will change accordingly (gentzler, 2001). the expectations of iran, as the reception environment in the present study, have changed after the islamic revolution. i...

متن کاملInvestigation of Fire Effects on Physical and Chemical Characteristics of Soil in Golandaz Dehbekri Rangeland
Awareness of the effects of fire on various aspects of an ecosystem after the fire,is important for range management. Changes in soil physical and chemical propertiescaused by fire can be the cause of changes in the vegetation. In this study, effects of fire onphysical and chemical characteristics of soil were investigated. This research was carriedout in a randomized block design method in the...
